UPDATE: Hwy 99 now open to single-lane alternating traffic after serious crash

Expect delays for some time on Sea to Sky Highway north of Squamish. 

Final update: The highway fully reopened at about 10 p.m. on July 22. 

Update: (6:45 p.m.) Squamish RCMP say the highway is being opened to alternating traffic at this time. Expect delays for a while yet. 

Update: The Lower Mainland Integrated Collision Analysis and Reconstruction Service (LMD-ICARS) is being deployed to investigate a crash on Highway 99 near the Cheekye Forest Service Road, an analyst tweeted at 5:40 p.m. on July 22. 

ICARS is called out to perform forensic reconstruction of serious crashes in B.C. 

The highway is closed in both directions. 

"Expect significant delays. Adjust travel plans if possible. There is no estimated time for reopening," said Cpl. Dave Noon.

Squamish RCMP tell The Squamish Chief that once ICARS arrive on the scene they will make an assessment as to which parts of the road are needed for the investigation.

RCMP hope to have alternating lanes of traffic in place as soon as their assessment is completed, the RCMP spokesperson said.

Traffic is being impacted in both directions after a crash on Highway 99 near Cheekye Forest Service Road, Drive B.C. reports. 

Folks have told us that it is a crash between a vehicle and a motorcyclist, but this has yet to be confirmed by law enforcement. 

First responders are on scene or en route.
