Here's how much rain you can expect in Whistler this weekend

Good news: the wet weather Whistler is currently experiencing should ease up over the next few days. ⛅

The wet spring weather is sticking around for the time being.

Usually the fast-flowing River of Golden Dreams is the most talked about waterway in Whistler when June rolls around.

This time, it's another atmospheric river that's making headlines. Again.

The rain currently falling outside is expected to intensify throughout Thursday afternoon, dumping between 15 and 25 millimetres of precipitation over the resort by 6 p.m., according to The Weather Network, before easing up overnight.

The heavy rainfall coupled with the amount of snow left in the alpine has prompted a flood watch throughout parts of B.C. Thursday (though that flooding risk doesn't apply to Whistler).

Fortunately, it looks like Thursday is going to be the rainiest day for the foreseeable future. Friday's forecast is calling for light rain in the morning before clearing up in the afternoon.

Friday will see about five to 10 millimetres of rain fall throughout the day, before further easing up on Saturday when a total of two to four mm will fall over the course of 24 hours. Skies will be cloudy for most of Saturday, though the sun is expected to finally make an appearance on Sunday.

Temperatures are also expected to warm up heading into the weekend, with Friday's high reaching about 16 degrees C.
