Looking to test your skinny-skiing skills on Whistler Olympic Park's (WOP) trails this winter?
There's no time like the present—especially considering the non-profit venue's $10 Wednesday night offerings are set to finish for the season this month.
Tonight, March 1, is the second-last cheap Wednesday scheduled for the 2022-23 season, before the program wraps up next week, on March 8.
What does a cheap Wednesday entail? Well, $10 trail tickets for cross-country skiing or snowshoeing (a $23 discount from WOP's standard at-the-gate rate for adults), $10 rentals, plus food and beverage specials from Whistler Cooks available in WOP's fully-licensed Day Lodge café, all between 3 and 9 p.m.
Online pre-booking is required for rentals, and walk-ins cannot be accommodated.
Dogs are also welcome to take part in the Wednesday night fun on WOP's dog-friendly trail network. Those trails are not lit, however, so don't forget to bring a headlamp.
Skiers can expect to find a machine-packed powder surface on WOP's trails today, though the forecast is calling for more snow to continue falling throughout the afternoon and evening. Temperatures tonight will hover around -3 or -4 degrees C, but will feel more like -8 C with the wind chill.
After March 8, WOP will remain open for Nordic skiing and snowshoeing during its usual winter operating hours—from 9 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. on weekdays, and from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. on weekends—until April 9.
