L’Ecole Vallée De Pemberton will be closed after a coronavirus outbreak on Jan. 25, 26.

Pemberton school L’Ecole Vallée De Pemberton is temporarily closed after a COVID-19 exposure on Jan. 25 and 26.

In a letter, Vancouver Coastal Health said, “public health is requiring all staff and students from all grades who attended school on [Jan.] 25, 26 2021 to self-isolate at home for 14 days from the date of exposure.”

The French language school for kids from Kindergarten to Grade 8 is located on the same property as Signal Hill Elementary School, but in a separate building. Students do access Signal Hill's gym and library, but they didn't on the days of the exposures, said a representative from the Sea to Sky School District.

In a Facebook post, Signal Hill Elementary Parent Advisory Council extended its well wishes to the school and reiterated that its school remains open.

“We extend kindness, calmness and … well wishes to our Ecole Vallée family,” it said. “Our doors will be open on Monday. School is in session for Signal Hill Elementary.”

Conseil scolaire francophone de la Colombie-Britannique (School District No. 93), the school district for l L’Ecole Vallée De Pemberton, declined to comment further for privacy reasons.
