Clorrica Riggs has been missing since Aug. 23.

The body of a Whistler woman who went missing last month has been found, according to social media posts from her family.

Clorrica Riggs, 29, was last seen on Tuesday, Aug. 23, when she told friends she was heading out for a walk at around 2 p.m. Her car was later found parked at the trailhead to Rainbow Lake, located on Alta Lake Road.

In a post to Facebook on Sept. 25, Riggs' sister Coleen shared the tragic news.

"Again I would like to thank everyone for helping the family find her. You are amazing people and I really appreciate the time volunteers and friends took to finding her," she wrote. "Don't forget to communicate with one another, and most importantly be kind to yourselves and each other. I will forever hold my sister near my heart."

In a release on Monday, Sept. 26, police confirmed Riggs was found on Sept. 25.

This was a very unfortunate incident, Cpl. Angela Kermer, Sea to Sky Media Relations Officer, said in the release.  We extend our condolences to Clorrica’s family, and follow their lead in thanking community partners in helping search for her.
