Photos: Whistler's 19th annual BioBlitz

Presenters reached more than 600 students in Whistler

This year’s BioBlitz from June 5 to 8 presented to 27 classes and 600 students at Spring Creek, Myrtle Philip, École la Passerelle, and Whistler Waldorf. Topics included pollinators, fish, reptiles and amphibians, plant-fungus relationships, food chains, and animal tracks.

BioBlitz is an event that celebrates biodiversity through education and scientific research. The goal for the Whistler Naturalists' June event was to provide an annual opportunity to reach students about all the fascinating animals, plants, fungi, as well as other organisms (like slime moulds!) that make Whistler home.

Keep up with Pique and the Whistler Naturalists for the survey portion of this year's BioBlitz during the last week of July.
