UPDATE: The Squamish-Lillooet Regional District has added more properties to its evacuation order for the Casper Creek wildfire, currently burning out of control near Lillooet.

The properties previously under an evacuation alert are now under an evacuation order, which now includes the entire area of Seton Portage and Tsal'alh. (See map.) This applies to 192 parcels within SLRD Area B, which is a mix of residential and recreational properties. (Not all parcels contain strructures.)

Residents under the evacuation order are asked to register with Emergency Social Services at the Lillooet Rec Centre at 930 Main Street, or by phoning 250-256-8524.

As accomodation in the area is limited, residents are asked to make arrangements where possibly to stay with the friends or family. Assistance with accomodation is available through Emergency Social Services, as is help for those with animal care needs. Residents needing transportation assistance from the area can contact the SLRD on-call duty manager at 604-698-9812.

The public is reminded to sign up for SLRD Alert to receive emergency notifications and updates at slrd.bc.ca/slrdalert
