Residents in several south Whistler neighbourhoods may notice brown or discoloured water flowing from their taps over the next month.
The Resort Municipality of Whistler (RMOW) issued an advisory this week, noting the disruption is linked to ongoing work at the South Whistler Water Supply Booster Pump Station.
According to the advisory, “residents in Function Junction, Cheakamus Crossing, Creekside and surrounding areas may notice intermittent discoloration in your water.”
The municipality advises residents to run their taps until the water clears. A chlorine smell or taste may also be present during this period.
“These effects are temporary and will return to normal once the work is complete,” the notice reads.
The RMOW expects the pump station work to wrap up by Sept. 23.
