The long wait for Whistler's first cannabis retail shops is almost over.

On Tuesday, June 20, Whistler's mayor and council will consider approving Temporary Use Permits for four cannabis retail shops: two in Whistler Village, one in Creekside, and one in Function Junction.

The applications are from This is Cannabis (at 201 A&B, 4293 Mountain Square); Main Street THC Canada Ltd (at 115, 4368 Main Street); Spiritleaf Whistler (at 103, 2011 Innsbruck Drive in Creekside); and A Little Bud (at 1, 1050 Millar Creek Road in Function).

Tuesday's batch of resolutions includes recommendations that council direct staff to recommend to the LCRB that a cannabis retail licence be issued to the four applicants; and that Good Neighbour Agreements are finalized for each.

Further, the resolutions include recommendations that council not endorse an additional four cannabis retail applications in the resort.
