The Sprite Park Rider Series continued this past weekend, March 1, with a SnowCross competition for skiers and boarders.

As for past events, the athletes came out in droves to compete against some of the top riders in the region. Most noticeably there was an increase in the number of skiers in the 13 and Under age group, thanks to Tyler Gigg and Derek Foos of Whistler-Blackcomb Ski School, who brought their groups out to race.

The next Sprite Series event, another Snowcross, is scheduled for March 15. To guarantee a spot and avoid the $5 surcharge, organizers are asking athletes to register in advance at any Whistler-Blackcomb Ski School Sales location or by calling 1-800-766-0449. Event day registration is available at the Rendezvous until 9:45 a.m.

The cost is $20 for each event, and starting March 1, athletes are required to purchase a one-time Canadian Ski and Snowboard Association Membership.
