Italy’s TOR 330 ultramarathon is not for the faint of heart.

Hope everyone had a fantastic long weekend! Some of you no doubt tried your hand at the annual Pique Canada Day trivia section, but in case that wasn't enough for you, here's even more sports fun facts from around the Sea to Sky and beyond.

Answer: D. Eliud Kipchoge from Kenya is the defending Olympic marathon champion, but the 42-kilometre stretch he's spent his life mastering seems short compared to ultra runners like Killian Jornet, Emelie Forsberg and Dean Karnazes, who run mind-blowing races of 170 kilometres or more.

2. Jesse Melamed is the reigning Enduro World Series (EWS) champion and one of Whistler's favourite athletes. What is his favourite movie?

A) Inception

B) Spider-Man: No Way Home 

C) Interstellar

D) Titanic

Answer: C. Jesse Melamed names the 2014 Christopher Nolan sci-fi epic Interstellar as his favourite film. 

3. Which WNBA team does Canadian basketball player Kia Nurse play for? 

A) Seattle Storm

B) Las Vegas Aces

C) Phoenix Mercury

D) New York Liberty 

Answer: A. Kia Nurse, a 6-foot point guard from Hamilton, Ont., suits up for the Seattle Storm. The sister of Edmonton Oilers defenceman Darnell Nurse has also played for the New York Liberty and Phoenix Mercury in her career.

4. Who are the first women's doubles luge World Cup medallists in Canadian history?

A) Brooke Apshkrum and Kailey Allan

B) Caitlin Nash and Natalie Corless

C) Alex Gough and Brooke Apshkrum 

D) Caitlin Nash and Kailey Allan 

Answer: B. On Dec. 17, 2022, local sliders Caitlin Nash and Natalie Corless made history as the first Canadian women ever to win a World Cup medal in doubles luge.
