The Whistler Secondary School (WSS) Grade 9 boys' basketball team recently claimed the 2024 Sea to Sky District Championship.
It was a tightly-contested match, with the Storm managing to edge out Don Ross Middle School 53-47 in Squamish.
Coaches Greg McDonnell and Bryan Hawkey have lots of good things to say about their team's performance on and off the court this season.
"The team has a 'three-pillar' philosophy of: respect for self and others, acceptance and hard work," explained McDonnell. "The players showed all three throughout the year, with highlights including volunteering at the Whistler Food Bank, working hard at school and accepting that calls don’t always go your way. Kind of like life!"
