Gordon McIvor is "Set for Life" after winning $675,000 on a scratch-and-win lottery ticket.

Not many people are excited when they're sitting in the doctor's office waiting room, but Gordon McIvor was.

That is, he was after he scratched his Set for Life ticket.

The Chilliwack man had stopped by a Shoppers Drug Mart on Vedder Road to grab some mints when he was running early for a doctor appointment, according to a press release from the B.C. Lottery Corp (BCLC).

McIvor decided to buy a scratch-and-win ticket at the same time and won right away. But it was just a free play.

So he collected his free ticket and headed over to the doctor's office. And while he waited, he scratched his free ticket.

"Everyone in the doctor’s office knew I won, and they were all looking at me, so it was kind of funny," he said in the BCLC announcement.

The win didn't faze him, though, apparently.

“I was stoic. I remained calm after winning, and everyone in the doctor’s office was asking me how I was so calm!”

After the doctor's office, he decided to head to a car dealership.

"My wife and I had been talking about getting a used car. I called her from the dealership saying we can get a new one and told her about the win. She thought I was full of it,” he said.

Along with the new car, he's planning on helping his daughter with a home and upgrading his RV.
