Real estate TV show casting in the Sea to Sky

'Quartier Recherché' is seeking French-speaking people looking for a new home for spring filming in Squamish and Whistler.

A real estate television show is currently casting in Squamish for its second season.

The show, Quartier Recherché, will be filming in the Sea to Sky Corridor in May and is looking for French-speaking participants seeking a new home.

“The goal of the real estate show is to help families, singles, couples, retirees and everyone in between find a new home in a neighbourhood that corresponds to their needs and lifestyle,” said Mel Offner, a production supervisor-coordinator for the show, in an email to The Squamish Chief.

“Unlike other real estate shows, we focus primarily on the neighbourhood more than the actual real estate product.”

The show is broadcast across Canada on Unis TV. The first season was filmed in Vancouver, Victoria, Edmonton, Calgary, Ottawa, Montreal, Quebec and Toronto. The second season will include the Maritimes, prairies and several cities in B.C., including Squamish and Whistler.

“We chose these two cities as they are important cities in the province, where a lot of people have been moving to in the last couple of years,” wrote Offner. “Squamish definitely attracts a wide variety of young couples, families and retirees, so we’re interested in showcasing the area on the show.”

Offner said interested participants would be required to fill out a five-to-10-minute questionnaire and shoot a presentation video. If chosen, an episode takes two days to film and participants will be compensated for their time.

Furthermore, the show requires participants can speak conversational French. If a family or a couple is interested, then at least one member should speak French.

“We are looking for people who are either first-time home buyers, people looking to downsize or find a bigger home, people who would like to find a new neighbourhood or simply people interested in finding out more about the local real estate market and products available on that said market for a potential purchase in the future,” wrote Offner.

The show's first season can be viewed on Unis TV’s website. If interested in applying, please email Mel Offner at TheOffnersProd@gmail.com.
