Justin Thomas, who on Sunday claimed his second major title with a playoff win at the PGA Championship, has committed to play in the upcoming RBC Canadian Open.

The national men's golf championship has been cancelled the past two years because of the COVID-19 pandemic, but will return on June 9-12 at St. George’s Golf and Country Club in Toronto.

Thomas, ranked No. 5 in the world, will join an impressive field that includes defending Canadian Open champion and world No. 7 Rory McIlroy, world No. 1 and reigning Masters champion Scottie Scheffler, world No. 3 Cameron Smith and world No. 13 Dustin Johnson.

On Sunday, Thomas stormed back from seven shots down to beat Will Zalatoris in a three-hole playoff at Southern Hills to claim his second PGA Championship.

The 29-year-old Thomas, a 15-time winner on the PGA Tour, won his previous major title in 2017 at Quail Hollow.
