HAMILTON — Hamilton police say two men charged in the fatal shooting of a 25-year-old Dundas man knew him for years, and one was an alleged drug trafficker.
Zachary Shuman died at the scene of the shooting on July 27.
Staff Sgt. Sara Beck says a 27-year-old from Kitchener and a 30-year-old from Dundas have both been arrested and charged with second-degree murder.
Police allege the 27-year-old accused man is a known drug trafficker.
Beck says police don't know why the suspects and Shuman agreed to meet up the day of the shooting, but they believe drugs are part of the case "overall."
Police say there was an alleged "disturbance" between Shuman and the suspects' vehicle outside a grocery store before he followed them to another nearby parking lot where he was shot.
