Being an avid reader of Letters to the Editor, I’ve noticed that Pique publishes letters up to a thousand words. After reading letters this long, the theme is often lost by the end.
A good letter to the editor should be 75 to 100 words. Three short paragraphs: your introduction, what you want to say, and your conclusion.
Shorter letters would allow more people to share their thoughts with the community. For those that have a lot to say—I say give them a feature article in the paper to express their point.
