After crunching the numbers of hundreds of ski resorts across North America, The Wall Street Journal, in an article on Nov. 9, named Whistler Blackcomb the top ski resort in the U.S. and Canada.
The Journal’s research included size and quality of skiable terrain serviced by lifts, average annual snowfall over the past 10 years, vertical skiable terrain, and length of ski season, as well as a score based on ratings from visitors of each resort’s après ski scene, including bars, restaurants, and hotels.
Not mentioned was the fact that Whistler is a year-round resort, arguably the mountain biking capital of the world, and is less than a two-hour drive on the scenic Sea to Sky Highway from Vancouver International Airport.
