Here is a quick look at what's on the agenda for the May 7, Village of Pemberton (VOP) regular council meeting.
Prior to the start of the meeting, the VOP will host an open house (more below). It starts at 5:00 p.m., while the regular council meeting will start at 5:30 p.m.
Both meetings will be held at Council Chambers (7400 Prospect Street).
Zoning bylaw update
The Village of Pemberton (VOP) will hold a public hearing on a number of proposed updates to its comprehensive zoning bylaw, which was passed last summer.
Staff describe the changes as "minor" and "housekeeping in nature." They involve adding sections that were inadvertently not carried over from the previous zoning bylaw, making corrections, and improving the clarity of certain regulations.

Feedback on the proposed changes can be shared at the public hearing.
Following the hearing, VOP council will give third and fourth (final) reading on the proposed amendments.
CAO verbal report on Joffre Lakes
VOP Chief Administrative Officer Nikki Gilmore will update council on BC Parks visitor management strategy for Joffre Lakes Provincial Park.
As part of its efforts to manage the dramatic rise in visitors to the busy park, the agency is engaging First Nations and local governments.
Management options being considered include day-use fees, a shuttle system, and limiting the numbers of day-use visitors allowed in the park.
As part of its efforts, BC Parks also had a public survey, which closed at the end of April. Results are anticipated to be made public this summer.
First-quarter reports
VOP Council will also hear from representatives of key departments who will share their first-quarter reports.
The reports give council a sense of what the departments have been up to and what they have planned for the future.
Representatives from development services, the operations and projects department, and the fire department will all present.

Lil'wat Nation annual rodeo and Pow Wow
Council will also consider a request from Chief Dean Nelson of the Lil'wat Nation to support the upcoming Annual May Day Rodeo and Pow Wow, a three-day event that starts on May 18.
In his letter to council, Nelson said the organizers are expecting over 500 spectators and 50 or more participants. "In addition to prize monies, hosting the Rodeo/Pow Wow includes covering costs such as Rodeo & Pow-wow Consultants, BC Ambulance Services, Stock Contractor, Rodeo Announcer, Judges, Timers, (and) Portable Toilet Rental," reads the letter. "As such, our total costs are well over $50,000."
