A wildfire which broke out between Garibaldi and Alice Lake, just east of the Tantalus Range, is growing.
As of Tuesday morning, April 2, the blaze is estimated at 15 hectares in size, according to the BC Wildfire Service.
Currently, 22 firefighters, one officer, and a helicopter were on scene, said Dorthe Jacobsen, with the Coastal Fire Service.
The fire is burning at the 17.5-mile area of the Squamish Valley Road.
A homeowner burning slash reportedly caused the fire, though an investigation is ongoing.
The fire is burning uphill away from residences, so there's no need for an evacuation alert at this time.
No residents are in danger from the fire.
However, there may be smoke in the Squamish Valley and possible air quality issues for Squamish.
