The Arc'teryx Climb Academy returns to Squamish for an action-packed weekend from August 22-24, 2025.
From the climbing enthusiast to the curious bystander, the event promises something for all. Throughout the weekend, attendees can enjoy free live music, film screenings, keynote presentations and an unforgettable after-hours music series. Whether you're here to learn from world-class athletes or simply take in the scenic views, this event is about celebrating the spirit of adventure and the climbing culture that thrives in Squamish.
Set in the stunning Pavilion Park, Arc'teryx Climb Academy acknowledges that this event is taking place on the unceded traditional territory of the Sḵwx̱wú7mesh Nation. We honour their connection to this land and are grateful for the opportunity to gather here for an event that will bring together athletes, filmmakers, musicians and the local community for a vibrant celebration of all things climbing.
Daytime programming for all ages
The Arc'teryx Climb Academy offers a full weekend of free daytime programming as well, open to all. From kids’ climbing sessions and a youth dyno competition, educational talks and community events, there’s something for everyone.
As a new addition for summer 2025, in partnership with Happiness Art Studio, Squamish Ninja Gym and Mountain Skills Academy, the Academy has launched kids programming to support parents and guardians participating in Academy clinics throughout the weekend.
Free evening events
The weekend kicks off Friday, August 22, with an opening ceremony and land acknowledgement from the Sḵwx̱wú7mesh Nation, followed by a tribute to the late climber Mike Gardner. Stories from climbers like Jordan Cannon, Madaleine Sorkin and Will Gadd are to follow, before wrapping up with a live performance by Squamish folk artist Ryan Harris.
Saturday’s events include a series of powerful film screenings, including Soul of Miistaki, Muga, Climbing Through and Hello, Beautiful, each exploring personal journeys, identity, healing and the transformative power of climbing. A special keynote panel, Stories Behind the Stone, will highlight the voices of women shaping the future of mountain sport. The evening will conclude with a performance by Australian electronic duo Bag Raiders, known for their chart-topping hits like Shooting Stars.
After-hours at the Brackendale Art Gallery
The only ticketed event is the Saturday night after-hours party at the Brackendale Art Gallery, starting at 10 p.m. Guests are encouraged to dress in their best ’70s-inspired outfits for a night full of groovy tunes and electric energy.
