This week's Metro Vancouver forecast includes days of sunshine, temperatures up to 18 C

Are you ready for another dose of nearly summery temperatures?

Temperatures trending a few degrees above average are expected in Metro Vancouver following a slightly cooler, cloudy start to the week.

While the weekend saw bright sunshine and temperatures climbing into the mid-teens, the forecast for Monday, April 15 includes the threat of showers throughout the day.

V.I.A.'s Downtown Centre Weatherhood station shows a high of 10 C and a low of 6 C with a mix of sun and cloud and a 31 per cent chance of showers. Tuesday may also see some showers but is expected to be mainly sunny with similar temperatures. However, overnight temperatures may dip to a chilly 4 C as skies clear on Wednesday in the wee hours (see slide two).

Temperatures are expected to start climbing at the mid-way mark of the week, rising to 13 C with a low of 5 C in the downtown area on Wednesday. These temperatures align close to seasonal, which are a high of 13 C and a low of 5.2 C, based on Environment Canada's historical climate data.

After rising to an expected 16 C on Thursday, Friday's forecast for the downtown area includes a high of 17 C.
