Whistler crime rate higher than provincial average

Although you might not know it from watching the evening news, the crime rate in B.C. is the lowest it’s been in 30 years. On Aug. 26 the Ministry of Public Safety released statistics from 2007, pointing to an eight per cent decrease in B.C.

The Resort Municipality of Whistler has no plans yet for the BCBC Lands at Alta Vista, municipal spokesperson Michele Comeau Thompson confirmed this week. The BCBC site is the location of the former Capilano Highways works yard, off of Highway 99.

COATS FOR KIDS Winter coats for children of all ages can be dropped off at Dual Mountain Drycleaners, both locations, at Market Pavillion and Function Junction. Coats are accessed by anyone in need through the Re-Use It Centre.
