Port Moody's Yellow Dog Brewing is collaborating with the BC SPCA for a contest that could soon put your pet's face on a beer can.

It's a match made in heaven — adorable pets and beer.

Yellow Dog Brewing is hosting a "star" search this month as part of a new contest and fundraiser with the BC SPCA to protect and care for more than 118,000 animals in need across the province.

Today (Sept. 6), the Port Moody business — located at 2817 Murray St. — has launched "Make My Pet a Yellow Dog Brewing Star," which, in the end, will put the faces of four pets on a new pack of Starborn beer.

Interested residents must raise a total of $100 or more to earn a chance at achieving the status for their pet.

"Just like the contestants, giving back to save animals is a core part of who we are at Yellow Dog Brewing," said Yellow Dog Brewing founder and owner Melinda Coghill in a news release.

"Each contestant is already a hero for stepping up for animals in need. We can’t wait to feature the winning pets on our beer."

The top three fundraisers will see their little companion's face on a special limited edition four pack of Yellow Dog Brewing beer, while the fourth will be selected at random.

Fundraisers begin today and run until Sept. 23.

Coghill adds the contest is open to all pet owners across B.C. aged 19 years and older.

For more information, you can visit the contest's page on the BC SPCA's website.
