On Friday, April 3, the Whistler Chamber, Rotary Club og Whistler and Squamish Lil'wat Cultural Centre hosted a special employee appreciation pancake breakfast for about 100 people, who showed up for delicious stacks of pancakes topped with fresh maple syrup from The Maple Sugar Shack. The SLCC also held a First Nations snowboard raffle to celebrate employee appreciation week, giving away a limited-edition snowboard designed by First Nations artist Rick Harry. The snowboard, dubbed The Challenger, features images from the Squamish and Lil'wat nations that represent ideals of spirituality, focus and support. Marina Montevecchi, of Blackcomb Snowmobile, won the board.
