Permanent exhibitions and guided tours at the Squamish Lil'wat Cultural Centre (SLCC) have been given a facelift.
SLCC Curator Mixalhítsa7 Alison Pascal and her curatorial team worked with more than 250 community members over the last 18 months to facilitate the revitalization, preparing a showcase that authentically reflects Squamish and Lil'wat Nation culture. Part of this process involved the repatriation of ancestral Squamish belongings from the Canadian Museum of History.
Throughout summer months, guests can also sign up for various guided cultural experiences, including the signature What We Treasure Tour offered hourly, as well as two seasonal features: the Legends of the Land Tour at 11 a.m. and the Interpretive Forest Walk at 3 p.m. All tours are included with admission, suitable for all ages, and available for group bookings upon request.
The SLCC is open daily from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. until August's end. Click here for details and check back with Pique Newsmagazine for more on this story.
