Whistler's inaugural Philippine Art Gala Night was, in the words of organizer Alpha Villanea, a "total success". Mayor Jack Crompton and Resort Municipality of Whistler (RMOW) general manager of community engagement and cultural services Karen Elliott both attended, along with local writer Stella Harvey and Whistler Multicultural Society (WMS) manging director Carole Stretch and over 60 total guests.
"I am hoping to host more of this event in the future," said Villanea. "Hope to see both old and new faces and keep learning from each others' cultural differences or beliefs."
