Developing writers can work with established professionals at a new weekend camp at The Point Artist-Run Centre on Alta Lake in Whistler.
The Writers Adventure Camp takes place on June 6 and 7.
Best-selling author Charlotte Gill (Eating Dirt), Leacock Medal winner Mark Leiren-Young (Never Shoot a Stampede Queen), lyricist Geoff Berner and Giller Prize finalist Zsuzsi Gartner will lead the sessions and provide one-on-one feedback.
"I think it's a great opportunity for those coming outside Whistler and locals to upgrade their skills and capabilities in many different forms of writing," says organizer Stephen Vogler.
He describes it as a cross between a boot camp and a festival.
Prices range from $75 for one three-hour afternoon workshop to $275 for the full weekend immersion.

New surfing film unveiled at Cinnamon Bear Bar
Surfing is Everything, a new film by Rip Curl, is being shown at the Cinnamon Bear Bar on Thursday, May 7, at 10 p.m.
The film is created from webisodes shot around the world, including Tofino, and combined together into a new feature.
Eric Eichberger of Rip Curl said the film was made to promote the Rip Curl Pro Tofino Canadian surfing championships which take place in the Vancouver Island community from May 29 to 31.
"We asked our riders what surfing meant to them and each rider had his own take on it. It means everything to those who are passionate about it," said Eichberger.
The film is preceded by a launch party at 7 p.m. Admission is free.

WAC Pop-up Art Studio opens June 1
Are you an artist who'd love a bit of (studio) space? The Whistler Arts Council (WAC) is looking for artists to participate in a new pop-up shared studio in a storefront at the Westin Resort and Spa this summer.
Artists residing in the Sea to Sky Corridor are eligible.
This is a pilot project facilitated by the resort's Community Cultural Officer Anne Popma.
"This project responds to a frequently identified need by local artists for affordable, centrally located studio space where they can create and showcase their work," says Popma in a release.
"It also provides a unique opportunity for visitors to encounter artists at work."
The deadline for artist submissions is Friday, May 8, at www.artswhistler.com.
