Update: Flipped car causes traffic delays in Richmond city centre

Two transported to hospital in stable condition, says BCEHS.

An earlier vehicle incident at a Richmond city centre intersection caused traffic delays on Wednesday afternoon.

The incident happened around 1:30 p.m. at Cook Road and Buswell Street on May 8, but it has since been cleared.

Richmond Fire-Rescue attended the scene to find one vehicle flipped over on its roof while the other was still on its wheels.

Firefighters tended to both vehicles and "stabilizing them" before turning the scene over to the Richmond RCMP, explained Grant Wyenberg, assistant deputy chief of Richmond Fire-Rescue.

BC Emergency Health Services (BCEHS) also attended the scene with two ambulances and primary care parademics.

"Paramedics provided emergency medical care to two patients who were transported to hospital in stable condition," said Rachelle Bown, public information officer at BCEHS.
