Emergency services rushed to Nairn Falls parking lot in the early hours of Sunday morning, March 3, where a pickup truck was in flames.

RCMP were called to the scene at 3:41 a.m. as the fire was deemed suspicious by Pemberton’s firefighters.

"Pemberton Fire Rescue arrived on scene to a pickup truck on fire and requested RCMP attendance due to the fire appearing suspicious,” said the Village of Pemberton’s communications and engagement advisor, Michelle Fernandes.

Cpl. James Gilmour said the RCMP has now confirmed the origins of the vehicle. The investigation is ongoing.

“It was stolen out of Vancouver and burned here,” he said. “We do not have any suspects at this time.”
