It's official: Whistler Blackcomb is one of Canada's most Instagrammed attractions

Whistler Blackcomb might have made it into the top three, but it still managed to get beat out by another of Mother Nature's attractions...

It probably comes as no surprise, but Whistler Blackcomb was named as one of Canada's most-Instagrammed attractions in a new ranking.
We're all well aware that Whistler is one of the most photogenic locations on the globe. From snowy evergreens and powder-covered peaks in the winter to turquoise glacier lakes and alpine wildflowers in the summer, it's impossible to not want to capture every corner.

While we might be more than a little biased, we're certainly not alone in our love for our hometown.

The website Must Do Canada, which offers tips and tricks for travellers heading to the Great White North, has just ranked the top 10 most Instagrammed attractions in the country, and Whistler—more specifically, Whistler Blackcomb—made it into the top three.

The company determined the rankings by the number of geotags at each location. Whistler's namesake came in at a total of 567,932 posts. The only issue? We lost out to our Alberta resort-town counterparts: Lake Louise, near Banff, Alta., earned the second spot.

The number one most Instagrammed attraction in Canada was Toronto's Scotiabank Arena, with 1,144,605 geotags. To be fair, they've got the Leafs and Raptors fans on their side.

A few other B.C. crowd-pleasers landed in the top as well, including the Capilano Suspension Bridge and Granville Island.

Keep reading to see what other Canadian locations made the list, and scroll down to peruse a few recently geotagged shots from our own backyard.
