Richmond reports 208 new COVID-19 cases

The number of COVID-19 cases in Richmond continues to climb.

In the past week (March 24 to March 30), there were 208 new cases in the city, according to data released by the BC Centre for Disease Control (BCCDC) on Friday.

This is up from 136 new cases last week (March 18 to 24).

In total, there have been 2,674 cases of the virus in Richmond since the start of the pandemic.

Richmond continues to report fewer daily cases per 100,000 population than the rest of Metro Vancouver, where about 15 or more cases per 100,000 population are being detected.

According to the BCCDC data, between 10 to 15 cases per 100,000 population are detected in Richmond each day.

B.C. last reported cases on Thursday, when health officials announced 832 more people had tested positive for the virus.
