Sunstone Golf Club on Airport Road has reopened after severe flooding in Pemberton the last week. The golf club was one of the properties on an evacuation order. Its neighbour Big Sky Golf Club remains closed until further notice.

The evacuation order was necessary as flooding presented an “immediate danger to life and safety,” the VOP said in a Jan. 30 Facebook post. The VOP also declared a state of local emergency in response to the flood hazard and risk to life and property. The state of local emergency was lifted Feb. 1

Thankfully, Sunstone Golf Club is back in action, announcing the good news on its Facebook page.

“After weathering the storm, we're thrilled to announce that we're OPEN once again and ready to serve up some delicious eats!” they wrote. “We can’t wait to see you soon! #WeSurvivedTheFlood."
