Sushi Village was closed for a few weeks due to a pipe break at the Sundial Hotel in Whistler.

Whistler's Sushi Village has been closed since mid-May due to water damage in the building it occupies on Sundial Crescent.

"We had a maintenance issue," said restaurant manager Carly Tysick, who explained a floor of the Sundial Hotel above the restaurant flooded due to a pipe break, which affected Sushi Village for the last few weeks while repairs were made.

Tysick said that while Sushi Village was flooded in the incident, it was not due to any pipes in the restaurant itself.

"It was a hotel issue that affected our restaurant ... It caused us enough damage that we had to close to fix everything up."

When the restaurant can re-open is yet to be confirmed, but Tysick encouraged locals to keep an eye on Sushi Village's social accounts for updates.

"We're really looking forward to welcoming all of our guests back," she said.

"This is the time of the year when we see all the locals, and we truly miss seeing all our locals, our regulars, our beloved customers."
