With Christmas in the rear-view, it’s time to clean up from the festivities and get rid of that Christmas tree.
Whistlerites can dispose of their trees at both the Nesters and Function Junction recycling depots from Dec. 26 to Jan. 15 from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. (the tree drop-off location at Nesters is changing this year to beside the waste bins—residents are advised to follow the signs to the new drop off location.)
As for your holiday recycling needs, things like batteries, Christmas lights and old electronics can be taken to the depots (or donated to the Re-Use-It Centre, if they’re still working), but items like toys, ribbons and bows, padded envelopes and foil gift wrap can not be recycled.
Be sure to remove tape and ribbons when recycling paper gift wrap.
