Whistler’s Mature Action Community (MAC) is inviting residents to its next monthly health and wellness talk at the Whistler Public Library.
The Aug. 16 session, BC AdventureSmart and Fire Safety, will feature presentations from Sandra Riches, executive director of BC AdventureSmart, and Darcie Sibbald, fire prevention officer with the Whistler Fire Rescue Service.
Riches will cover outdoor adventure preparedness in her talk, Know Before You Go, while Sibbald will speak on fire prevention and extreme heat safety for seniors. Her presentation will include tips on protecting homes, using lithium-ion batteries safely, and selecting and maintaining fire extinguishers.
The event is free to attend and refreshments will be provided. Registration is encouraged by emailing [email protected].
