Zero Ceiling’s Skate Jam rolls back into Whistler

The free, all-ages event will feature street races, competitions, music, and food in celebration of skate culture and community.

The Whistler Skate Park will come alive with music, food, and four-wheeled action later this month as Zero Ceiling hosts its second annual All Aboard Skate Jam.

The free, family-friendly event takes place on Wednesday, Aug. 27, from 4 to 7:30 p.m., bringing together youth, community, and skate culture for an evening of races, competitions, and camaraderie.

Festivities kick off at 4 p.m. with an opening ceremony and land acknowledgement, followed by street races and competitions for different age groups: kids under 10 at 4:15 p.m., ages 11 to 16 at 5:15 p.m., and skaters 17 and older at 6:15 p.m.

Off the ramps, attendees can enjoy Splitz Grill burgers and hotdogs by donation, a community raffle, and music from a live DJ. Prizes will be awarded at the end of each competition.

“This event is all about celebrating skate culture while connecting people of all ages,” said Zero Ceiling in its event announcement.

Zero Ceiling, a Whistler-based non-profit, works to provide housing, employment, and support to young people facing homelessness or barriers in the Sea to Sky corridor.
