Freestyle Whistler alum Maia Schwinghammer recently soared to moguls bronze in Idre Fjäll, Sweden, co-headlining a day that saw iconic Mikael Kingsbury strike World Cup gold for the 92nd time.

Amidst women, only reigning Olympic champ Jakara Anthony (82.94) and French athlete Perrine Laffont (80.89) bested Schwinghammer's score of 80.71 points.

Kingsbury (87.92) found himself third in the men's semifinals, but ultimately prevailed over Ikuma Horishima of Japan (85.89) as well as high-flying Swede Walter Wallberg (85.83).

"I am really happy with my day, it’s a step in the right direction," Schwinghammer said in a press release. "And so proud of our performance as a team, we’ve been working hard and it’s starting to show!"

Remarked Kingsbury: "I’m super happy to have my second [win of the season]. I think I had tiny mistakes, but overall I did a very good double full and a good ten. I was very strong in my skiing."

A total of seven Canucks qualified for finals. Julien Viel finished eighth among men, followed by Sam Cordell in 12th and Sam Goodison at 13th.

Partaking in the ladies' event were Laurianne Desmarais-Gilbert (11th) and Jessie Linton (13th). Much like Cordell and Goodison, they were making their inaugural finals appearances of the year.

"Maia made significant improvements from F1 into F2, which allowed her to put down her best run of the day," said Canadian coach Jim Schiman in a release. "It’s her first podium in individual moguls after her previous second place in duals, and we’re all thrilled with her progress. Mik’s incredible comeback run in F2 was inspiring, and the team as a whole showed great resilience and skill."
