It's a second straight World Cup top 10 for Cameron Alexander at Saturday's downhill race in Wengen, Switzerland.
Marco Odermatt, the Olympic giant slalom gold medallist from 2022, triumphed on his home snow (2:22.58) while his compatriot Franjo von Allmen took silver (2:22.95) and Miho Hrobat of Slovenia clinched bronze (2:23.15).
Jack Crawford joined his fellow Whistlerite Alexander among the ranks of point-scoring athletes in ninth.
"It feels really good to put one down at one of the classics,” said Alexander in a press release. "It’s funny, I scored my first World Cup points ever here in Wengen five years ago and that was the best I’d ever done here in the downhill. I’ve skied fast here in the past but there was always a little mistake or something so today’s fifth feels great."
