Young Sea to Sky talent was on display this past weekend at the BC Provincial Downhill Championships in Big White.
Mack Manietta rocketed to the event's fastest time: three minutes and 5.251 seconds. Xavier Harrisson did well to finish second behind his fellow U15 rider (3:09.007) and Owen White battled through a crash to secure third place (3:23.608).
Xavier's older brother, Sebastien, struck gold among U17 expert boys and nearly equalled Manietta's performance (3:05.893). Travis Goller went home with silver (3:11.304) and bronze landed around the neck of Nate Kirby (3:11.902).
"Super happy to take the win at Big White. Second fastest time of the day, 0.642 off the fastest time set by [Mack]," remarked Sebastien on his Instagram account. "Huge congrats to [Travis] and [Nate]."
Arleigh Kemp led a local sweep of the U17 sport/expert girls division (3:31.345), edging out Stevie Smith Memorial Award recipient Ruby Wells (3:31.665) and perennial contender Cami Bragg (3:35.739).
Lauren Rosser triumphed in the elite women's category (3:37.177) and Bergen O'Neill earned top spot for elite men (3:06.797).
