Canucks return to Whistler

Starved NHL hockey fans can catch the action at Meadow Park Sports Centre

Sixteen months after they last played a NHL game, and six years since their last training camp in Whistler, the Vancouver Canucks return Sept. 14.

The Canucks training camp will be held at Meadow Park Sports Centre Sept. 14-17, with daily sessions on the ice at 9 a.m. and 1 p.m.

Hockey fans can watch their favorite players as they train for the upcoming season. Todd Bertuzzi, Markus Naslund, Brendan Morrsion, Mattias Ohlund and 2005 first round draft choice Luc Bourdon will all be in attendance.

Admission for viewing is by donation, which will go to an, as of yet, unnamed charity.

The pools, squash courts and weight room at Meadow Park will be closed for annual maintenance during the training camp. The pools closed Sept. 6 and will re-open Sept. 25; the fitness studio and squash courts closed Sept. 6 and will reopen Sept. 18; and the weight room will be closed Sept. 13 to Sept. 16.
