The Howe Sound Curling Club, which is part of the Squamish Valley Golf and Country Club, is gearing up for the 2001-2002 season.

Whether you’re an experienced skipper or have never played the game, you’re welcome to register for the league on Sept. 18 and 19. There are leagues for women, men, and mixed teams, a Friday social league, and regular weekend bonspiels. There will also be regular instructional clinics for newcomers.

League play starts immediately after Thanksgiving weekend (Oct. 8).

Every Monday is charity night, which allowes companies to sponsor a team in exchange for a tax receipt. The proceeds of the event would go towards the charity supported by the winning team.

The Howe Sound Curling Club is located at 2458 Mamquam Road in Squamish. For more information, call the club at 604-898-5558 or e-mail svgcc@mountain-inter.net and a representative from the club will get back to you.
