Escape Route's Ski to Sky Challenge returns on Feb. 4, 2024.

Escape Route's popular annual ski touring event is back.

The Ski to Sky Challenge features an extensive collection of scavenger hunt-style locations and activities throughout Whistler, Squamish, Pemberton and Vancouver. Participants are invited to complete as many as they can, tracking their routes on the FATMAP Explore platform.

Awards for first, second and third place are on the line, and the winner can expect to take home a mountaineering prize pack valued at over $2300. Weekly bonus points for best picture, Mountain Information Network (MIN) report and GPS art are also up for grabs, as are additional prizes to be distributed via a random weekly draw.

The challenge begins on Feb. 4 and runs until March 31. More information about rules, prizes and other details are viewable on the Escape Route website.

Event organizers expect and encourage all participants to possess an adequate level of gear and backcountry safety training before they venture out into the wild.
