Sea to Sky mountain bike fans might remember Mikey Delesalle from past appearances at Crankworx Whistler. Last summer, he upset ex-King of Crankworx Tuhoto-Ariki Pene in the dual slalom.

He's also slated to make his downhill World Cup elite debut in a few weeks.

Delesalle and his crew, Gwin Racing, are one of half a dozen wildcard teams that have been chosen to participate in the UCI Mountain Bike World Series at Loudenvielle, France. Gwin Racing is led, of course, by five-time World Cup overall champ Aaron Gwin who's still going strong at 37 years of age.

Gavin Tomlinson plans to join his teammates Delesalle and Gwin in action.

Other wildcard units include The Alliance (featuring Jackson Connelly), Rogue Racing - SR Suntour (Thibaut Daprela), Kenda NS Bikes UR Team (Kye A'Hearn) Goodman Santacruz (Thomas Estaque) and Team High Country.

Downhill World Cup competition runs in Loudenvielle between May 30 and June 1.
