After a multi-hour delay on Saturday, it has been determined that the RockShox Canadian Open Downhill (DH) elite race will not happen in 2025.

"Due to unfavourable weather conditions preventing helicopter access for athlete safety, the RockShox Canadian Open Downhill Group A finals on the legendary 1199 track have been cancelled," stated event organizers in a press release.

"A helicopter is a critical safety requirement for this event to ensure athlete extraction if needed. After initially moving Group A finals from Friday, August 15, to Saturday, August 16, the difficult decision was made to cancel the race. We thank all athletes, fans, and partners for their understanding and support as we continue to prioritise safety while celebrating the best of mountain biking."

Group B saw action on Thursday, with Ruby Wells and Lewis Laird winning the U17 girls and boys titles respectively.
