Six locals elevated themselves above the pack at the recent IFSA Regional freeride competition on Dec. 30 in Whistler.

Mhairi Smart led the U19 girls with 58.63 points, barely edging out silver medallist Kayla Constantini with 58.06. Regan Beattie also put her best foot forward, doing enough to earn bronze (57.96).

Among U19 boys it was Floyd Guy (64.67) who led another Sea to Sky podium sweep. Guy did just enough to best fellow Pembertonian Tannen DesBrisay (64.43), with Nate Wilson rounding out the top three (63.43).

Constantini and Wilson are headed to the Freeride Junior World Championships (FJWC) from Jan. 20 to 26, where they will join their Whistler Freeride Club (WFC) teammates  Drea Dimma, Kane Gascoigne, Lukas Bennett and Kieren Ferguson in representing Canada.
