The annual WORCA Bike Swap will be taking place at Creekside outside of Dusty’s Saturday, April 21, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. This event provides a venue for people to buy and sell used bike gear, while supporting WORCA’s youth programs.
The cost is $2 to sell items, plus 15 per cent of sales under $1,000 and 10 per cent of sales $1,000 and over. The drop-off starts at 8 a.m. sharp, and no bikes or gear will be accepted after 10 a.m. when the doors open to the public. Individuals and companies bringing a large quantity of bikes and gear are asked to come as early as possible so volunteers can help them.
This year WORCA will be able to take credit cards and bank cards on site, as well as cash. No cheques will be accepted. Memberships for the 2007 season will also be available through the morning.

LUNA ends season with dodgeball tournament
It takes a lot to play competitive dodgeball — agility, flexibility, fast reflexes, and a healthy tolerance for getting smacked by inflated rubber balls. Groin protection isn’t a bad idea either.
On Monday, April 23, LUNA is hosting its last drop-in of the year, the Dodgeball Grand Finale. The event is a tournament, open to teams of eight people. At least one member of the opposite sex must be on each team.
The cost is $8 per player, or $6 for players with LUNA cards. The winning team will win $500 in cash. There will also be prizes from the players with the best outfits, the player with the best moves, and the team with the most spectators.

Wilderness Trail Run on Sunday
The trail running season officially kicks off Sunday, April 22 with the fifth annual Wilderness Trail Run in Pemberton, taking place on a 9 km trail network surrounding Mosquito Lake.
The entry fee is $15, with all proceeds going to the local Search and Rescue team.
To take part, runners should meet at the “four corners” intersection of Reid Road and Ivey Lake Road by 9:30 a.m. The race starts at 10 a.m. Walkers are welcome.
Valley Trail Run registration open online
The 16 th annual Whistler Valley Trail Run is now accepting online applications on its website, www.whistlervalleytrailrun.org .
This year the run will be entirely off-road, with both the 10 km and 5 km runs taking place on gravel roads and trails in Lost Lake Park, starting and finishing at the ticket booth off Lorimer Road.
Entry fees are $30 this year, including a pair of running socks until the early bird deadline on May 11. Families can also participate for $45.
The run gets underway at 9 a.m. and the annual Teddy Bear Trot for kids 10 and under starts at 10:30 a.m.
Registration open for little league baseball
Registration for Whistler’s minor baseball programs is underway, and is only available through the Meadow Park Sports Centre by calling 604-935-7529 or visiting www.whistlerisrecreation.com . Programs include T-ball (age 5 and 6), Farm (7 and 8), Minors (9 and 10), Major (11 and 12), and the new Juniors program for kids 13 to 15.
