GOLDEN MOMENT. Team Canada’s Bianca Ribi stands atop the podium after winning gold in the first-ever World Cup Monobob race at the Whistler Sliding Centre on Nov. 25. Fellow Canadian slider Cynthia Appiah followed in second, with U.S.A.’s Kaillie Humphries rounding out the podium in third place.

A new World Cup season is almost upon us, and the Whistler Sliding Centre (WSC) will host more Bobsleigh Canada Skeleton (BCS) selection races next week.

Women's monobob and two-man bobsleigh events are scheduled for Thursday, Nov. 2 at 1 p.m., while two-woman and four-man bobsleigh goes down Friday, Nov. 3 also at 1 p.m.

Back on Nov. 25 in Whistler, Bianca Ribi clinched the first gold medal ever awarded in women's monobob on the International Bobsleigh and Skeleton Federation (IBSF) World Cup circuit. The Winnipeg native will no doubt be hungry to add more hardware to her collection.

Selection events for both men's and women's skeleton took place this past Saturday.
