Whistler Valley Snowboard Club (WVSC) athletes continue to make their mark on the BC Provincial Slopestyle Series as the 2024 season picks up steam.

Jonas Gaces locked down the runner-up spot among U15 FIS boys on Jan. 13 in Big White with 57.83 points, standing on the podium with Cooper Park (59.17) and Blake Morris (50.33).

Graysen Anderson (69.33) missed the U18 medals by less than two-tenths of a point.

Christina Tian (53.00) finished second overall in the girls’ FIS standings, bookended by Laura Lucas (53.67) and Tess Armstrong (50.83).

Whistler boys dominated the non-FIS U13 event. Logan Daling (69.17) led a podium sweep that also included Kayne Gaces in second (67.67) and Kanon Ling, who was third (61.50)

Charlie Abela (71.83) prevailed amidst non-FIS U18 boys, getting the better of Anton Tio (60.67) and Andre Tio (58.00).

Corbin Gray won his own U15 age category (64.17) ahead of Owen Thompson (59.17) and Chase Giesbrecht (43.67).

Then on Jan. 14, it was Cora Campos (73.00) who claimed victory among U15 females. Meanwhile in the U18 FIS girls event, Lyra Xu (73.33) and Tian (70.67) finished with silver and bronze respectively.

The same trio of U13 boys pulled off another sweep of the hardware. This time it was Ling securing gold (85.33) over Daling (77.33) and Gaces (74.33).

Anderson found a bit of redemption by snatching U18 bronze (73.67) behind Nayte Brown (78.00) and Colton McHatten (76.17).

Gaces added another U15 silver medal to his collection (69.17) as Park rose to the top once more (82.17).
