Three Whistler gymnasts qualify for provincials

Whistler Gymnastics athletes Alexa Maxwell, Juno Buhler and Sadie Richer qualified for March's provincial championship based on the strength of their results on Feb. 17 and 18 at the Christy Fraser Memorial Invitational in Langley, B.C. 

Maxwell's best performance was fifth in her floor routine, which helped her place 12th in the Canadian Competitive Program (CCP) Level 6 all-around. Richer wound up fifth on vault and 16th in all-around. 

Competing in a different group than her peers, Buhler found herself eighth in the all-around, with her best individual effort coming on balance beam (also eighth). 

In the CCP level 7 event, Maya Langdale ended up sixth in all-around, with fourths on uneven bars and floor. Club-mate Kirra Douglas was not far behind in seventh, including fourth on balance beam.

Ula Morrissey distinguished herself among Xcel Gold athletes by prevailing on uneven bars en route to all-around sixth in her group.
